Giant waves on the Weser - water protection police are looking for witnesses!

On Saturday, May 17th, 2025, a dangerous beach overflowing on the Weser occurred at around 4:00 p.m., exactly at the sports boat harbor at the Elsfleth lock. The waves, generated by a large naval ship passing by, tore a person with themselves and caused injuries that later had to be treated by a doctor. In addition, two smartphones were washed into the water by other people present.

The water protection police in Brake are now urgently asking for testimony. People who have observed the incident or have taken photos and videos are asked to report and present their recordings.
