On Friday afternoon, April 25, 2025, a devastating fire broke out in Velbert in an empty barn that severely damaged the building. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the fire brigade, a complete burning of the barn could be prevented. During the extinguishing work, Schmalenhofer Straße was completely closed in the area of ​​operations to make the work easier for the fire brigade.
