On Thursday morning, May 8, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B1 between Waldschlösschen and Leopoldstal. At 6:40 a.m., a VW Golf, directed by a 21-year-old woman from Horn-Bad Meinberg, collided frontally with a truck. The young driver got into oncoming traffic for so far inexplicable reasons and collided with the 59-year-old truck driver from Paderborn, who was traveling towards Blomberg.

The 21-year-old was brought to the clinic with serious injuries, while the truck driver transferred to the hospital as a precaution, but was dismissed. Both vehicles suffered massive damage, the estimated damage amounts to 115,000 euros. The B1 was closed in the area of ​​the accident until around 9:40 a.m. to recover the vehicles and repair the damaged guardrails.
