on Easter Sunday, April 20, there was a dramatic accident in a roundabout in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. A small skate, occupied with two people, collided with an Audi station wagon from Gütersloh. The police were alerted at 1:04 p.m. after the scooter fell and both passengers were injured. While the 18-year-old driver was only slightly injured, the 17-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries, but without life at risk.

The driver of the Audi simply drove away after the collision. But attentive witnesses stopped the fleeing vehicle near Pixeler Straße. The alleged accident driver, a 35-year-old man from the region, was arrested a short time later near a petrol station. A blood sample was taken from him in the police station, and the Audi and his driver's license were also secured. The police secured the scene of the accident and eliminated small oil traces.
