A dramatic traffic accident occurred in Schortens, in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured. The biker came off the road during a right curve and crashed into a ditch with full force. In the meantime there was also a vegetation fire in Hooksiel, which was reported around 5:30 p.m. Fire broke out in several places between Bäderstraße and Wasserkianlage and destroyed an area of ​​around 300 square meters, including floor vegetation and individual trees. The police are looking for witnesses who can provide information on the cause of the fire.

Another message affects a driver in Wangerland who caused an accident under the influence of drugs. The 36-year-old lost control of his vehicle, crashed into a bus stop and finally ended up in a ditch. He was unharmed, but his car was a total economic loss. A urine test resulted in a positive result on THC. An e-scooter driver was also checked and showed a breath alcohol concentration of 1.20 per thousand, which also results in legal consequences.
