B 266, Deutschland - On Thursday afternoon, May 1st, a dramatic frontal collision occurred on federal road 266 between Schleiden-Vogelsang and Simmerath-Hinhruhr. A 47-year-old motorcyclist from Stolberg lost control of his vehicle in a sharp right-hand bend, got on the oncoming lane and collided with the car of a 24-year-old Zülpicher. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was flown to a university clinic with a rescue helicopter. Fortunately, the car driver and her passenger remained unharmed, but both vehicles were no longer ready to drive after the crash.
In addition, two other motorcyclists, a 54-year-old and a 36-year-old man from Lower Rhine, were also seriously injured, with one of them also transported to the hospital with the helicopter.
