Several people were injured in a dramatic traffic accident in Kevelaer-Kervenheim on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Around 10:55 a.m. at the intersection of Schloss-Wissener Straße/El Grotendonk there was a collision between a red Skoda Superb, driven by a 47-year-old man from Essen, and a VW bus whose 47-year-old driver from Mönchengladbach had disregarded the stop sign. The impact was so violent that the Skoda overturned in the intersection and landed in a nearby field.

In addition to the driver,

in the Skoda were a 36-year-old woman and three children aged ten to thirteen years. The VW bus was heavily occupied, with a driver, a 47-year-old passenger, a 24-year-old man and six children and adolescents aged to sixteen. All 14 people were immediately admitted to the hospital. The exact state of health is currently unclear. Further information is expected.
