at noon, around 1:30 p.m., there was a dramatic collision between a train and a school bus at the unhappy level crossing in Freistatt. Why this shock accident occurred is still unclear. There were five students and the 64-year-old driver in the school bus. A 16-year-old student suffered serious injuries and was flown to the hospital with a rescue helicopter, life risk cannot be excluded.

The other occupants got away with minor injuries, while the driver and the three people in the locomotive remained unharmed. The school bus was badly damaged by the impact, but the locomotive was only slightly affected. The police are now investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
