In the night from Monday to Tuesday (May 13, 2025), a serious accident occurred in Zella-Mehlis. For an unknown cause, a man lost control of his motorhome, raced from Bahnhofstrasse and crashed into a tree and a wall. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The police secured the scene of the accident while a towing service took care of the damaged motorhome. The amount of property damage is still unknown. The incident leaves many questions open and the investigation is in full swing.
