Serious traffic accident in Erfurt: Rail traffic stopped briefly!

In the night of May 1st, a shocking traffic accident occurred in Bahnstrasse in Erfurt Bischleben-Stedten at around 0:30 a.m. A car lost control in a confusing curve, raced against a fence and then hit a concrete foundation head -on for a Deutsche Bahn overhead line mast. Five people were seriously injured in the spectacular accident.

Thanks to the brave first aiders, the inmates could quickly be freed from the destroyed vehicle and provided until the rescue workers arrive. During the rescue measures, train traffic in the immediate vicinity of several train tracks had to be completely set. Only after a thorough review by experts from Deutsche Bahn could the tracks be released again, which enabled the resumption of rail traffic. The exact causes of the accident are still unclear.
