Certainly cycling: Neubrandenburg starts large traffic control campaign!

On May 6, 2024, the traffic safety campaign "Drive.Asen.leben!" With a special focus on two -wheeler traffic. The police mobilized around 100 forces from the Neubrandenburg and Rostock police headquarters, which took a closer look at 837 vehicles. Alarming 133 violations were documented, including 60 accidents and priority violations, 8 cell phone violations of cyclists and 2 drug violations for e-scooter drivers.

At the same time, a central event took place on the marketplace, in which citizens were able to find out about safe behavior in road traffic. Bicycle coding, helmet tests and simulators for reaction and bicycle training offered practical insights to visitors. The nationwide controls are continued throughout May and aim to sharpen the awareness of the dangers in road traffic, especially for cyclists.
