Secure your bike: the police start free coding campaigns!

The police in Lüneburg calls for caution: bicycles and pedelecs are still a popular destination for thieves. In order to counteract theft, the police offer numerous free coding campaigns, where bike owners can have their bikes identified safely. Despite a decline in the theft figures in 2024 by over 13 percent to 1,476 cases, the threat from criminal gangs and individuals remains great.

The police recommend using high-quality locks and additional GPS trackers to protect the bicycles from theft. Important data, such as the frame or coding number, should be documented in a bicycle pass to ensure quick identification after theft. The next coding appointments in Lüneburg are planned for June 6 and 7, 2025. Protect your wheel and secure an appointment!
