The explosive grenade from the Second World War successfully blown up in Hanover!
On Wednesday afternoon there were exciting scenes in Hanover! A dangerous explosive grenade from the Second World War was discovered during earthworks on Hansastraße in the Nordhafen district. Due to its poor condition, the grenade had to be blown up immediately on site. The Hanover fire brigade acted quickly and built a protective wall to minimize possible risks.
Fortunately, the ammunition find was in an uninhabited area, so that extensive evacuations were not necessary. Only short -term closures of the Hansastraße, the Mittelland Canal and a nearby forest were required. At 6:30 p.m. the explosion was carried out by the Lower Saxony ordnance disposal service - and with great success! Then the traffic could be released quickly. An exciting day for the fire brigade and the residents!Details | |
