Strong cohesion against domestic violence: Success of the conference in BS

Braunschweig, Deutschland - On May 7, 2025, around 180 experts gathered in Braunschweig for the 12th interdisciplinary conference "Home Violence", which took place under the motto "Tackling and doing the work of the perpetrator". The event was organized by the Attorney General and the Braunschweig police department and marked a further step to strengthen cooperation in the fight against domestic violence. For the first time, representatives from cities such as Göttingen, Hameln and Oldenburg also took part in the conference, which underlines the national importance of the initiative.

The participants discussed central questions about the causes of relationships with violence, specific partner elections of victims and the sensitization of young people. In addition, the effects of Section 238 of the Criminal Code were discussed to re -enact victims and perpetrators, as well as opportunities to support those affected. Police Vice President Uwe Lange emphasized the growing challenge through domestic violence and the increase in the number of cases in crime statistics. He called for a social responsibility to combat the problem and emphasized the importance of the network, which continues to grow and is committed to sustainable changes.
