Fatal incident in Höxter: harvest helpers die from carbon monoxide!
On Wednesday, May 7th, a tragic accident occurred in Höxter-Lüchtringen, in which two Romanian harvest helpers, a 19-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man died. The two were housed in a house where they were found dead. In the meantime, an autopsy in Münster has been carried out in which the suspicion of fatal carbon monoxide poisoning was confirmed. However, the final blood tests of the deceased are still pending.
The police investigation show that the gas instantaneous heater in the house was not properly approved and properly installed. This is given in a preliminary report, which was commissioned at the instigation of the public prosecutor. The main suspicion is directed against the 42-year-old homeowner from Romania, against whom it is now being investigated on the basis of negligent killing. The investigation continues to bring light into the dark of this sad incident.
