Tragic accident on the hayarkt: drunk man gets under the light rail

On Friday afternoon, a tragic accident occurred at the Heumarkt stop in Cologne: a man previously unknown was hit by a city railway that ran out of the city and suffered fatal injuries. Witnesses reported that the man was obviously alcoholic and fluctuating around 3 p.m. and hit the disc of the train before he got under the track.

As a result of the incident, the light rail traffic was discontinued in both directions, while the traffic accident team started the investigation on site. The Cologne police are looking for other witnesses to fully clarify the incident.
