Tragic traffic accident: 24-year-old dies after Baum-Crash in Mannheim

On Saturday evening, April 12, 2025, a tragic traffic accident occurred on the K9710/Gaibiberger Weg. A 24-year-old audi driver lost control of his vehicle, raced from the street and crashed into a tree. This then fell on the road and became a danger to subsequent vehicles. A 31-year-old Peugeot driver who drove in the same direction could no longer brake in time and collided with the fallen tree.

The audi driver suffered the most serious injuries and still had to be reanimated at the scene of the accident. Despite all the rescue workers' efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The Peugeot driver was unharmed, but received medical care as a precaution. The K9710 was closed in both directions during the over four and a half hours of accident recording, and the vehicles were removed from a towing service. To clarify the exact cause of the accident, an expert was consulted and the investigation by the Heidelberg traffic service was taken over. The property damage has so far been unclear.
