The responsible driver, a 29-year-old man from Hamburg, lost control of his Mercedes, who came off the road in a construction site. He collided with a warning bake, which triggered the chain reaction of the accident.

The collision with the warning bake led to his foot thrown onto the road. This resulted in the crossing of the property by two SEAT vehicles, a Dacia and a Skoda, which were damaged as a result. The driver of the Skoda, a 51-year-old from Hamburg, was aware of the situation and tried to slow down, but the 33-year-old driver from Soest was no longer able to stop in her Toyota and drove up on the Skoda.

The total property damage is estimated to be 18,000 euros. The considerable damage to several vehicles meant that both the Mercedes and the Toyota had to be recovered by a towing company. These incidents underline the high risk of being construction sites on motorways for all road users.
