Traffic chaos in Stuttgart: Sprinter Kracht in Stadtbahn - two injuries!

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, there was a dramatic collision between a Mercedes Sprinter and a light rail of the U2 line at the Schloßstraße/Silberburgstrasse intersection. At 1:10 p.m., a 48-year-old sprinter driver, apparently forbidden, wanted to turn left into Silberburgstrasse and crashed into the approaching light rail.

In the accident, two passengers suffered minor injuries, a 72-year-old and an 82-year-old woman. The immediately alarmed rescue workers provided the injured and brought them to hospitals as a precaution. The property damage is estimated at around 10,000 euros. The police started the investigation to clarify the exact course of the accident.
