Viersen in turmoil: climate activists damage cars and leave messages!
In a shocking incident in downtown Viersen on Wednesday morning, April 23, a number of vehicles were target of property damage. Unknown perpetrators had the air escaped from the tires of parked cars and left provocative messages. The Viersen police received a total of 47 criminal complaints from affected drivers who found leaflets on their vehicles that obviously came from climate activists.
The campaign mainly took place in public parking spaces on Bleichstrasse and around the festival hall on Herrmann-Hülser-Platz. Many SUVs that parked in the entire city center, including Rectoratstraße, Burgstraße and Remigiusstraße were not spared. The police started the investigation to hold those responsible for this unpleasant action.
