Gun when evacuation: police arrested threatening man in Krefeld

on Monday morning, April 28, 2025, there was a dramatic incident in Krefeld during a forced eviction. At around 9 a.m., a 63-year-old man threatened the bailiff with a firearm, whereupon she quickly retired and the man barricaded herself in his apartment.

The police moved in with special forces and was able to arrest the man around 12:30 p.m. He was injured when he was arrested and had to be taken to a hospital. A weapon was secured when he was searched for. During the police operation, Hülser Straße between Kützhofweg and at the Schützenhof was closed to the public. The criminal police started the investigation.
