Walnuss thieves caught in Hamburg-Veddel: police strike!

In a dramatic campaign, the Hamburg police arrested twelve men on May 19, 2025 in Veddel who are suspected of having stolen a whole container load with walnuts. The men, all of Romanian citizens between the ages of 17 and 51, offered the stolen company owner for sale without knowing that he previously informed the police. This led to a quick commitment of the civil investigators who were able to snap the group at an agreed meeting point in Hamburg-Billbrook.

The police secured 2,800 kilograms of walnuts and several vehicles, while other suspects, between 17 and 37 years old, were released without reasons for detention. The investigation into the whereabouts of the remaining more than twelve tons of walnuts is now continued by LKA 182. The exciting chase around the theft of the walnuts triggers headlines!
