Offenbach, Deutschland - Wilhelm Schmits is now officially the new head of the Offenbach police station! After he had been temporarily in office since January 1, 2025, he received the official appointment of police chief Daniel Muth on Wednesday. Schmits is now responsible for over 100 civil servants who ensure the security of around 140,000 people in the city every day.

In his inaugural speech, Schmits emphasized the challenges in a big city like Offenbach and promised to ensure the safety of the population together with his colleagues. As an experienced policeman who started his career in 1988, Schmits worked in various functions before moving to the Offenbach police station. He lives with his family in the Main-Kinzig district and has a passion for motorcycling and diving.
