In a shocking incident on Monday evening, a 45-year-old was brutally beaten and kicked in an underpass at the train station in Metzinger Eisenbahnstrasse. The man, obviously alcoholic, then dragged himself to Stuttgarter Straße in Riederich, where witnesses alerted the police around 11:40 p.m. Rescue workers took the injured to the hospital. The police are urgently looking for witnesses who can provide relevant information on this dangerous bodily harm.
On Friday afternoon, a witness called the fire brigade and police to the Brunnenweg in Tischardt, where a Thuja hedge burned. Two children were seen who ran away. Fortunately, passers -by could extinguish the fire with water buckets and garden tubes before the fire brigade arrived. Already identified, the two children, one of whom is suspected of having ignited the fire, were handed over to their legal guardians. Nobody was injured.
In another incident, a 47-year-old worker was seriously injured during cleaning work on a machine in Fabrikstrasse. The machine started for still unclear reasons and added a serious hand injury to him. After the first emergency care, the man was flown to the hospital with a rescue helicopter. The investigation into the exact cause of the accident is underway.
