Call witness call: Dog bite in the Friedrich-Ebert-Park-Notes wanted!

Ludwigshafen (ots)

A unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, August 23, 2024, in the Friedrich-Ebert-Park. The 82-year-old man was traveling in the park, simply wanted to throw some garbage into a trash can when he suddenly became the victim of a dog bite. This happened around 6:30 p.m., not far from a playground, where a young couple with a leash, small black and white dog were sitting on a bench.

Immediately after the incident, a second dog, which also belonged to the same breed, came out under the bank and attacked the older gentleman by biting him into the calf. The incident was initially reported by none of those involved, although the couple in question apologized according to the bite, but did not provide any personal data.

The consequences of the dog bite

The situation escalated when the man had no relief from his injury and there was inflammation. This meant that he had to be admitted to a hospital. Only after this medical intervention did he decide to notify the police and file a complaint. A action that often only takes place when the situation has serious health consequences.

The incident was documented in a police report, and the person concerned provided a description of the dog owners. The woman was described in mid -twenties, with short black hair and a height of about 1.65 meters. The companion in the park was also around 20 years old, had dark hair, was slim and measured about 1.70 meters.

call for witness survey

The police are now asking for the public. Witnesses who have observed the incident or may be able to provide further information about the identity of the dog owners are urgently asked to report. The Ludwigshafen 2 police inspection can be reached on 0621 963-2222 or by email at piludwigshafen2@Polizei.rlp.de. Any information, however, could be valuable to determine those responsible and to prevent a similar situation in the future.

It is important that dog owners take responsibility for the behavior of their animals and ensure that such incidents do not happen again. The incident in Ludwigshafen underlines the need for more mindfulness and caution in dealing with dogs, especially in public parks, where families with children are.
