In an age in which violence and threats increase in society, it is increasingly important to strengthen your own civil courage. People often hesitate to act in critical situations for fear of being at risk. The upcoming civil courage course of the Dortmund police offers precisely these necessary tools in order to be able to help safely and effectively.

This two -day course is aimed at everyone who wants to know how to help others in threatening circumstances without in danger. The course will take place on Tuesday, the 27th and Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Dortmund police headquarters, Markgrafenstraße 102. The topics of the course are coordinated and thus offer comprehensive training:
- causes and the development of violence
- assessment of body language
- strategies for exit from dangerous situations
- opportunities to show civil courage without endangering yourself
The events not only promote personal security, but also build up a sense of community. In view of the current social challenges, it is essential that citizens actively work for their fellow human beings.
