Customs fight for undeclared work: Safety day in Karlsruhe a success!
Hauptzollamt Karlsruhe, Deutschland - On May 13, 2025, the main customs office Karlsruhe carried out a nationwide security day in Baden-Württemberg, in which numerous emergency services were active. The aim of the measures was to combat undeclared work, tax evasion and drug crime in order to strengthen security and fair competition. Spokeswoman Alina Holm emphasized the importance of these controls to uncover abuses and to promote consciousness for law and order.
As part of the security day, 92 people and 45 vehicles were checked in Heidelberg. Several cases of illegal employment were found, including employees without a valid residence permit. Proceedings were initiated against the employers. Customs officials were also present on the traffic routes: a car was confiscated on the basis of the provision of the prescription, and a Turkish truck driver was picked up with non-controlled cigarettes. Overall, the controls show how important the cooperation between customs and other security authorities is to combat crime and ensure legal certainty.
