Sparkassenstars celebrate strong victory: great returnees turn the game
Bochum, Deutschland - VfL Sparkassenstars Bochum won an impressive 68:55 win against the Nuremberg Falcons on Saturday, thanks to an outstanding defensive performance, which limited the guests to just 55 points. Top scorer Peter Kalthoff provided most of the Bochum offensive power with 17 points. The returnees Niklas Geske and Kilian Dietz also gave the team the necessary thrust after they were missing in the first three games.
The game began promising for Bochum, who took control early after an 8-0 run and held the Falcons to just 26 points in the first half. A strong 13-0 run in the second quarter laid the foundation for the later victory. Nuremberg came up again at the beginning of the last section, but Geske and Dietz secured the victory with crucial points. Head coach Felix Banobre and Managing Director Tobias Steinert were pleased with the strong team performance and the successful start of the season with three wins from four games.
