VfL Bochum: Villis resigns - who leads the club in the crisis?

Bochum, Deutschland - Hans-Peter Villis is no longer chairman of the board and supervisory board of VfL Bochum! The 66-year-old withdraws for health reasons, as the Revierclub officially announced. Martin Volpers, the fan representative, takes over the board of directors, while Uwe Tigges, the previous deputy chairman, will take over the supervision. Both changes are temporarily, which increases uncertainty in the club.

The situation is dramatic: only a day before, coach Peter Zeidler and sports director Marc Lettau were released, while Bochum bumped into the last place in the Bundesliga. An unfortunate time when VfL has to compete against the German football record champion FC Bayern Munich on Sunday. It remains to be seen how the club will deal with this pressure.
