VfL Bochum draws consequences: coach Zeidler has to go to Fiasco!

VfL Bochum pulled the ripcord and separated after a disastrous start to the season from coach Peter Zeidler and sports director Marc Lettau. After just a few months in office and a terrifying record of eight competitive games without a win, Zeidler, 62, became the first coaching room of this Bundesliga season. This decision was followed by the recent disappointing results, including an early defeat in the DFB Cup and a series of defeats in the league that plunged the club to the last place in the table. Only a lean point has been fetched so far.

Trust in Zeidler was used up in view of the predicament in the team, as the association confirmed in an official message. The club will now go in search of a new coach, whereby the former Schalke André Breitenreiter is acting as a possible successor. The new coach is facing a mammoth task: In the next four games, Bochum will meet the top teams FC Bayern, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart. The pressure on the new trainer could hardly be greater because the time is urged and victories have to be achieved as soon as possible.
