Conversion of the Edeka market: This is how the Romanshorner Platz will be redesigned!

Romanshorner Platz, 88045 Friedrichshafen, Deutschland - The Edeka market on Romanshorner Platz in Friedrichshafen is about to be renovated. The building has been gutted since the end of August and the plans for the redesign take shape. The building owner design advisory board has presented the first designs for the future appearance of the market. "We are pleased that it will continue," said Mayor Fabian Müller, since the only local supplier in the city center has been closed since September 2023. The operators had withdrawn from the first floor due to inconsistencies about conversion plans, but Edeka boss Jürgen Baur has now acquired the property to secure progress.

The completion of the renovation work is sought for June 2025. The external design is intended to receive a modern, sandstone -colored appearance, while the existing facade panels are processed. In addition, an exterior elevator is planned to improve the accessibility to the upper floor, which is to be used by two dealers in the future. The market is re -enhanced by the creation of a snack area in the entrance, and the sales area on the ground floor is reduced to about 70 square meters.
