Improvements in local transport: faster to Eastern Switzerland from December!

From December 15th, local transport in the border triangle Bodenseekreis, Vorarlberg and Eastern Switzerland will be significantly improved. Passengers from Friedrichshafen can then travel to Eastern Switzerland faster. Line S7 is extended on weekends and on weekdays to the Lindau Inselbahnhof, which creates new connections between the regional trains RB93 and S7. The travel time between Kressbronn and Rorschach is shortened to less than one hour with just one change, as the CDU member of the state parliament in August Schuler reports according to information from www.suedurier.de .

In addition, the RB93 line, which previously ended in Kressbronn, is extended to Lindau-Island in the evening, which is particularly beneficial for summer tourism. Nevertheless, Schuler criticizes that there are still considerable gaps in the timetable, especially on weekends and in the early morning between Baden-Württemberg and Vorarlberg. In order to better connect the regions, further joint measures between the federal states are necessary. Better networking of the regional trains with the long-distance trains in Lindau-Island is also required to enable passengers a faster connection to Zurich Airport.
