Mayor Georg Riedmann announced at the vernissage of the current Paul heavy exhibition that Bernhard Oßwald, the chairman of the Markdorf Art Association, does not want to run for his office after 19 years. Oßwald, one of the co -founders of the association, plans to hand over the top office to a qualified successor that has a sense of contemporary art and is willing to take on the extensive tasks. According to Oßwald, there are already interested parties, but none from the current board.

The handover is scheduled to take place next March at an extraordinary general meeting to ensure that the new ideas and views about the work of the art association match the goals of the board. Oßwald looks back on a successful time that began with the founding of the association in 2005 and is building a balance sheet of positive developments in the exhibition company, which is supported by various funding and an annual city grant of 17,200 euros.
