Fight against species death: Greenpeace campaign before un in Bonn!

A few days before the World Nature Conference, Greenpeace mobilizes attention to the alarming consequences of species death. Before the UN headquarters in Bonn, an impressive installation of domino stones will be built in the morning, which is supposed to set an urgent sign. The image of an endangered species, including bees, songbirds, hammer sharks, orangutans and people, is emblazoned on every dominant stone. This approximately four -meter -high and ten -meter -long artwork illustrates the dramatic location of nature and symbolically stands for species death.

The campaign only takes place shortly before the beginning of the important World Nature Conference, which takes place from October 21 to November 11th in Cali, Colombia. At this global meeting, representatives from 196 countries advise about the current state of the Biodiversity Convention launched in 1992. The focus is particularly on the threats for around 44,000 species worldwide, which, according to the World Natural Protection Union, are at risk of extinction. Greenpeace also calls for measures to finance and implement nature conservation in the Member States, which is at stake in the middle of the conferences. Further Details are to be found here .
