After a brutal attack on last Thursday in Merfeld and another incident in Bottrop on October 14, the safety precautions for ATMs were recently put to the test. The banks in Westmünsterland have already reacted by implementing innovative security solutions. In this way, color cartridges were installed that make the money unusable in the event of an explosive. In addition, exposed ATMs were dismantled or hidden in solid steel concrete houses.
