Before decision: Hertha Walheim fights for points in the Bundesliga

In the exciting world of judo ports, the men's team from Hertha Walheim has decisive fights. The team under the direction of coach Lars Engens has two challenges in front of them that could decide on the further course of this season. These are exciting and have the potential to raise the athletes' services to a new level.

On Saturday, the team awaits the JC Bottrop in the hall of the Inda high school in Kornelimünster at 6 p.m. A week later, the guest appearance at the Sua Witten-Annen follows. Despite the current situation in which Hertha Walheim takes up the last place in the table with just two points, Enten is optimistic. "These are difficult tasks, but I think our viewers can look forward to some surprises," he says fully.

The starting point

The Bundesliga season did not go according to plan for Hertha Walheim, since there is no descent from the first division, but the fighters can prepare relatively relaxed for the remaining encounters. The opponents also represent an interesting challenge. Bottrop, currently in fifth place with only three points, also has to deal with the absence of important junior fighters, as they have to be prepared for the European Championship in Tallinn in September. That could be an opportunity for the Walheimer who have to do without the point supplier Arthur Akopjan.

The trainer is not discouraged, however: "The positive mood in our team results from the fact that we can otherwise offer a largely complete squad." He emphasizes the value of teamwork and the need that all fighters go to their limits to give up the red lantern and boost point collecting. This will be necessary to end the season with a certain pride.

It becomes particularly exciting in the weight classes, where some athletes could cause a sensation. "We also have to show that we can turn the bikes at the right moment," adds Entens. The international athletes Bart Weling and Joes Schell in particular are top performers who have noticed in the past fights through their impressive Ippon victories. "But I also count on difficult tasks for Caspar Golland and Lino Dello Russo," predicts the trainer and thus shows the high pressure that is on the team.

a possible coup

"These fights will have a key character", is certain. If it is after him, this also means a possible change in the tableau, provided that the fighters can grow beyond themselves. "If all of us give over 100 percent, I see opportunities that we can choose the encounter for ourselves and the red lantern can be passed on to the guest," explains the coach.

Another highlight could result in the course of Saturday. It is rumored that up to 73 kilograms of up to 73 kilograms, an unknown fighter could stand on the mat who has not yet performed this season. "I don't want to anticipate there, but it could be exciting," says the trainer and encourages the audience to further emotions. The fighter of the Hertha team are ready to do their best and fight for victory. The coming days will show whether expectations can be met and whether Hertha Walheim can take the step out of the relegation zone.
