World record in the Rhein-Kreis: Highest wind measuring mast built in the world!

A new world record is in the Rhein-Kreis: The highest wind mast in the world, a proud 300 meters high, was built near the Jüchener A44N wind farm. This impressive construction is overwhelmed by all previous wind turbines and was composed of 99 individual parts that were transported from Brandenburg. The mast is equipped with 46 measuring devices, capture the data at wind speed, air pressure and other weather conditions in order to check the suitability for future height wind turbines.

GICON CEO Jochen Großmann emphasized the importance of stable winds for the success of the project when commissioning. In addition, a modern optical system called "Lidar" is used to make the measurements more efficient. The 70-ton mast, which was built according to the "telescope principle" and is secured with steel ropes, is said to do pioneering work in the area of sustainable energy generation. The project is supported by Beventum GmbH, a subsidiary of the Federal Employment Agency, and is financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Mayor Harald Zillikens sees another sign for Jüchen as an innovation -friendly community. Further details on this impressive project can be found in a report on rp-online.de .
