Strike in Eschbach: AVNET employee demand seven percent more wages!
Eschbach, Deutschland - On Thursday, around 100 AVNET Embedded employees in Eschbach in the Markgräflerland resigned as part of a nationwide warning strike at IG Metall. The employees are calling for a wage increase of seven percent and monthly incentives of 170 euros for trainees. Norbert Göbelsmann, first authorized representative of IG Metall Freiburg/Lörrach, emphasizes the high price pressure on employees, since food prices have risen by a third since 2021.
In addition, the employees protest against the company's restructuring plans, which in their opinion could have negative effects on working conditions. The Südwestmetall employers' association criticizes the warning strikes and asks IG Metall to attribute the expectations of the employees to a realistic level. The collective bargaining negotiations that have been running since mid -September are still tense, and IG Metall sees urgent need for action to meet the demands of the employees.
