At 02:40 a.m., several witnesses noticed how the perpetrator opened a chain lock with a bollard and tried to flee with a stolen racing bike. Despite his attempts to escape, a 45-year-old passerby stood in his way and held the bike.

The thief reacted aggressively and tried to hit the man, but his attack was unsuccessful. The alarmed emergency services of the Bremen police were quickly on site and were able to arrest the bicycle thief directly. The powerless thief is now facing the consequences of his attempted assault and theft.
