The victim succumbed to his stab wounds before the rescue workers arrived. Witnesses discovered the blood -smeared man on the cemetery site in September 2024. The public prosecutor states that the accused plan to attack the 40-year-old with an electric shocker. However, since this did not work, there was a fatal attack with a knife, in which the 28-year-old stood up on the victim several times. According to the investigation, the 28-year-old knew the victim privately. In addition, the public prosecutor suspects that he offered the 37-year-old 1,000 euros for his help in the crime.

arrests and investigations

The police arrested the 28-year-old man a few weeks after the crime, while the 37-year-old was caught shortly afterwards. Since then, both men have been in custody. A third man, a 36-year-old, could also be involved in the incident. The exact background of the crime are currently still unclear.

In a different context, the Bremen police are faced with the decision to expand the use of distance electro pulse devices (Deig). So far, electric shockers have only been reserved for the special operations (SEK), but are now also to be used for the support and intervention group of the riot police, such as the Weser Kurier reported.

This measure is part of a coalition agreement of the red-green-red state government, which is intended to enable a round-the-clock availability in special areas of application. The use of the devices is subject to strict rules: the simultaneous use of several Deig or multiple hits against one person is inadmissible. At least two -day basic training and annual training courses are required for use. In addition, the application must be documented with bodycams.
