Terrible accident on B213: five injuries, two in mortal danger!

On May 11, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred at 11:00 p.m. on the B213 near Cloppenburg. A missed overtaking process of a 79-year-old woman led to a collision with an oncoming truck. The accident had serious consequences for several people, some of whom were violated life -threatening.

In the incident, a total of five people were injured. The 79-year-old driver and a 62-year-old passenger suffered life-threatening injuries, while an 83-year-old passenger was seriously injured. A 60-year-old driver of another vehicle was slightly injured, as was a 28-year-old passenger, who is also seriously injured. Rescue workers were quickly on site and brought the injured to various hospitals. Three rescue helicopters were used to support. The responsible hospital in the area was unable to accept all injuries, which is why other clinics were also requested.

The truck who was on the road with a Lübeck license plate then caught the woman's car. As a result, the driver of the Mercedes C-Class turned and broken down frontally with a white Skoda, which was directed by a 65-year-old, also affected driver. While the causer of the accident and the passengers in the Mercedes were caused by the serious injuries, the truck driver was not injured.

The federal road 213 had to be closed for several hours to clear the scene of the accident. Among other things, the fire brigade's forces had to free the driver's husband from the trapped vehicle. A crisis intervention team from the Cloppenburg district was on site and supervised seven eyewitnesses and initial assistants of the accident.
