Solemn barrel beer tapping: EEC inspires Bremen-Nord!
Waldgaststätte Brunnenhof, Grüner Weg 15, 28779 Leuchtenburg, Deutschland - The honorable society (EEI), founded in 1982 by Heinrich Wilhelm Oebker, Hans Ellmers and Lutz Diedrich, looks back on a long tradition. The organization currently consists of eight members who are characterized by their formal clothing, consisting of fly, tuxedo, white silk scarf, white gloves, a clove in the buttonhole and a cylinder. In addition, they wear a black umbrella and are active at numerous public events, including business and market openings, congresses, shipping and donation campaigns, such as das-blv.de.
A highlight in the EEC calendar is the traditional barrel beer tapping, which was originally started as a maypole tapping and this year on Friday, April 25th, for the 41st time. The event takes place in the Brunnenhof forest restaurant, Grüner Weg 15 in Leuchtenburg, and is free of charge for all visitors. From 6 p.m. a grill operation will be offered in the frame of which bratwurst, mushrooms and neck steaks in the roll with herb salad are sold at moderate prices. At 1:45 p.m., the members start with a round tour in the historic BSAG Borgwardbus from 1953, which transports a 50-liter barrel Haake Beck to the event location. The first stop of the bus ride is the Sparta restaurant in Lesum, followed by the Alois restaurant in Vegesack and the ferry house. Hubertus Hess-Grunewald, President of SV Werder Bremen, will pierce the barrel at around 7 p.m. and emit free beer. A beer car in the outdoor area of the forest restaurant is operated until 10 p.m., after which the bar is only possible inside. DJ Toddy takes care of the musical entertainment, while numerous guests of honor, including the local office manager and the mayor, are expected.
Fass beer tapping and history
The EEC is planning for Friday, April 28th, another event programmed a tap beer tab in the Kränholm restaurant in St. Magnus from 7 p.m. This event has been one of the traditions of society for 40 years. As reported weser-kurier.de, the members have used various means of transport such as the historical Borgwardbus to support the event. Fass beer tapes used to take place in places such as the beach lust and Bruns Garden. To finance the event, a booklet financed by sponsors has also been published, which also includes the history of the EEC.
The members of the EEC, who dress in tuxedo and cylinder, are on an equal footing and have been organizing the beer tapping since 1983. Maibock barrels were originally stuck, but the traditions have changed towards Haake Beck beer. Today's tour begins at noon in the Borgward bus and comprises several stations in Bremen-Nord, where vouchers are handed over instead of beer barrels. The celebrations on April 28 are accompanied by the live music of the band Casino Royale from Hamburg, and admission to the event is also free, with admission from 6 p.m.
