Sailboat in the Vegesacker port sinks: police and fire brigade in action!

On Friday morning, April 25th, a seven -meter -long sailboat in the Vegesacker Museumshaven dropped. The Bremen police confirmed the incident and found that there were no injuries. The harbor champion alarmed the police at around 8 a.m. because the boat had dropped at a berth below the game ship. When the water protection police arrived, it could initially be ruled out that there were still people on board.

The fire brigade was informed to dive the boat. However, divers quickly found that no people were on board. The owner of the sailing boat, which comes from Münster, had only moored the boat in the Vegesacker Hafen about a week ago. On Saturday, the owner had the boat lifted and dragged it into a shipyard. The nautical investigators of the Bremen water protection police have now investigated the cause of the accident, such as the Weser-Kurier reported.

Similar incidents in the Vegesacker Hafen

Another incident occurred on July 27, 2015 when an eleven meter long sailing yacht threatened to decrease in the veggy harbor. The yacht was full of water and the fire brigade and rescue control centers were alerted. When the emergency services arrived, the yacht was already falling. According to a fire brigade spokesman, only a few centimeters were missing before the ship had completely lost.

The emergency services use two diving pumps to keep the yacht afloat, while rescue divers were readiness to protect the emergency services. The tank of the yacht was pumped into a disposal vehicle before the ship was brought to the Grohner Yachthafen, accompanied by Bremen 1. The operation lasted about three hours and up to 21 emergency services were involved.
