Serious accident on B 463: Omnibus collides with a small van!

Calw, Deutschland - on Tuesday morning, around 8:30 a.m., there was a devastating frontal collision between a Mercedes small transporter and a bus on the federal road B 463 between Calw-Ernstmühl and Bad Liebenzell. The 21-year-old driver of the small van got on the opposite lane for reasons that have so far been unexplained and collided by the bus. Both drivers were seriously injured in the impact, the transporter driver even suffered life -threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The fire brigade was on site with a large -scale operation to free the trapped drivers. A total of 54 emergency services from Calw and Bad Liebenzell and the deputy district fire chief were deployed. The rescue of the drivers took about 30 minutes and required the use of several hydraulic rescue devices. In the meantime, the passengers of the bus, which were slightly injured, were looked after in the fire brigade tool shed. Due to expired operating materials and hydraulic oil, the federal road had to be closed for several hours.
