Chaos in train traffic: Metronom hopes for train drivers until December!

Celle, Deutschland - Celle again experiences massive restrictions on rail traffic! Between the 21st and 28th October, travelers have to expect failures and diversions, since important maintenance work takes place. The trains between Celle and Hanover are diverted via Lehrte and do not stop in Großburgwedel, Isernhagen and Langenhagen Mitte. In addition, there are no trains between Northeim and Hanover from October 26th to 28th.

The railway company Metronom does not let their heads hang - press spokesman Björn Tiedemann is optimistic and, despite the challenges of the goal, states to offer all trips again in December. Metronom currently has 145 train drivers, but urgently needs 25 more in order to be able to operate the timetable reliably. Although the training courses are well filled, the recruitment of train drivers remains a major challenge due to the general shortage of skilled workers. The already reduced replacement timetable brings more reliability, and according to Tiedemann, over 90 percent of the train driver layers has been filled in the past few months. Nevertheless, punctuality remains unsatisfactory at just under 80 percent, since long -distance trains often have to be maintained. More details on these developments can be found on www.cz.de .
