Fight for the truth: Marie-Thérèse Kaiser pulls before the constitutional court

Celle, Deutschland - The Higher Regional Court of Celle rejected the revision of the AfD politician and influencer Marie-Thérèse Kaiser on September 19, 2024 against a judgment for incitement. Previously, Kaiser had been sentenced to 100 daily rates of 60 euros each, after her controversial Facebook expression was classified as defaming in the run-up to the 2021 federal election. In her article she asked provocative questions about the "welcome culture" in relation to refugees and referred to statistics about supposedly increased crime among certain groups, especially Afghans.

The court confirmed that Kaiser's statements were a flat -rate insertion to all Afghan refugees and violated the principles of factual reporting. Despite the rejected revision, Kaiser announced that the Federal Constitutional Court would make a constitutional complaint. She criticizes the decision as a distorted interpretation of her statements and sees her freedom of expression in accordance with Article 5 of the Basic Law.
