Chemnitz Central Station: Wart area remains dream - construction work is quiet!

In Chemnitz Central Station, an unfinished waiting area of Deutsche Bahn causes trouble among travelers. Despite large -scale advertising, which promises a new, comfortable waiting area between the tracks 8 and 9, no construction work has been seen for months. The train announces the completion for summer 2024, but the reality looks different: there is garbage around the closed area, and pigeon droppings can be found everywhere. Dissatisfaction is large among passengers. A traveler commented on Tag24: "Nothing is surprising on the train. After all this time, I wonder if there is still a planning for the waiting area." Many hope that this will be completed by the Capital of Culture 2025 to upgrade the main train station, which currently only offers a small, heated lounge area with a few seats.
