Planting festival City and Forest: Chemnitz celebrates Apfelbaum splendor!

Chemnitz, Deutschland - The planting festival "City and Forest" of lived neighborhood, the main project of Chemnitz 2025, is just around the corner! From November 3 to 10, 2024, 200 apple trees will be planted, maintained and celebrated at 11 locations in Chemnitz and the Cultural Center Region. With over 20 partners - including citizens, schools, associations such as the federal government and NABU as well as local companies - this event promises an exciting week full of participation and exchange. The opening will take place on November 3 in the Hartmannfabrik, where an emission-free concert by LASCA FOX gives the starting signal from 12 p.m.

A highlight of the week will be the planting campaign on November 8, where children of the Kita Campulino and the Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau set trees on the Reichenhainer Straße campus. On November 9th there will be a mini concert and grill event on the Brühl, and the festival ends on November 10th with a winter festival in the Jutta Müller ice sports center.
