Serious accident in Cloppenburg: Woman from Lindern fights for her life!

On Monday morning, October 28, 2024, a serious traffic accident occurred in the intersection of the Bühren Ring with Resthauser Strasse in Cloppenburg. Around 10:23 a.m., a 36-year-old driver of an Opel wanted to cross Resthauser Straße and overlooked a 58-year-old Volkswagen driver who was entitled to accommodation. The impact was violent and led to a frontal collision of the two vehicles, whereby the woman was thrown into an adjacent trench and came to a standstill on the roof.

The Cloppenburg volunteer fire brigade was alerted, but did not have to intervene because the initial assumption that the driver was trapped was not. While the occupants of the Opel got away with minor injuries, the driver of the Volkswagen suffered serious injuries. All participants were immediately taken to surrounding hospitals.
