Tierheim Sedelsberg is moving: New hope for dramatic finds!
The Sedelsberg animal shelter will soon move to Nikolausdorf, to a property that was associated with a shocking incident three years ago: 250 dead pigs were found there after the owner had starved to death. The district of Cloppenburg has acquired the area with around 15,000 square meters on Letherfelderstrasse. Despite the burdened history of the location, animal shelter manager Franka Thun is optimistic: "We have to drive out the bad karma first."
After intensive negotiations, the district has now given the green light for planning a new shelter. The old location in Sedelsberg was no longer in accordance with animal welfare and the building fabric was very extensive. The new premises could offer space for around 100 cats and 20 dogs. Thun emphasizes the advantages and disadvantages of the new location, in particular the hidden location, which is advantageous for the animals, while the connection for employees could prepare challenges. Nevertheless, the team is relieved that planning is finally making progress after the move has been in the room for years. Further information provides www.nwzonline.de .
